assessment time

ok so assessment is tomorrow and I am here to tell you about the interestingness i have bestowed upon you for this assessment as well as of course checking off all the things i had to do...

flickr
Flickr has become an important tool for me, for sharing photos with friends, its so much easier to send a link to my flickr account than to send all the photos by email, because of this I've been uploading and using titles and descriptions. At first the tags were hard to do because i was trying to think "what would everyone else put these under" then i remembered thats the beauty of tags-its for me to decided what i think they should be tagged as. I joined the MPI104 group and checked out peoples photos leaving comments on the ones i loved and adding favorites as i went. I even came across a couple of friends flickr accounts and added them as contacts as well as classmate.

del.icio.us
Del.icio.us was a lot harder for me to get used to using, i think because i haven't been using the internet as much as a should or as broadly as i should (myspace just traps me in its little world)so i was finding it hard to bookmark as i wasn't visiting anywhere new. I can see the advantage of it, and I'm sure when i get back into scanning the web for things it will make keeping good pages handy a lot easier. I think work wise it would be a good tool especially in the design industry by way of keeping inspirations on hand and easy to share with workmates. So i managed to save bookmarks, give them descriptions and tags that i feel work and are easy to navigate, i even managed to bundle some tags, which was a handy option as so much of what you bookmark is in groups. I networked and became fans of MPI104-2007 students.

Blogger
Good old blogging. While i find my blog interesting (because its about me-and who doesn't find themselves interesting?) there will always be those out there who don't, and thats in itself the beauty of a blog-you can find one on what your interested in..be that music, movies or just listening to someone having a rant...I think the hard thing about doing a blog for this class is knowing you lecturer and your class mates are going to read it. I put my favorite links in the sidebar-these are the pages i visit the most. I put the all important links to relevant info in my posts and photos when points needed to be made-otherwise it would just be me rambling-and thats boring. I commented others posts when i found i had something to say. I tried a few different templates...but the one i settled on i obviously liked the best..then i set about changing what i didn't like about it. I even added a counter-which hopefully will go up! In the end i actually enjoyed having my little soap box to shout from!

All in all I think i made my Flickr Del.icio.us and Blogger accounts as interesting as i could have. Hopefully my ever increasing skills will enable me to make them more interesting as the time goes on.
